AN INDIE GAME STUDIO

Every world
begins with
a thread.

I make games from the worlds
I keep imagining.

Meet the studio

A little curiosity can become an entire world.

THE STUDIO

What happens
if I try this?

Loom of Life is my independent game studio.

I want to make something you can sit down and enjoy for a while. That might be twenty minutes with an idea, a few hours following a story, or longer spent getting to know a world.

A few things that keep me making games.

What’s around the corner?

What’s over there? Where does this path lead? I love the curiosity that makes me keep exploring a world, wondering what I might find next.

A NOTE FROM THE PERSON BEHIND THE LOOM

Exploring the
threads of life.

“I’m discovering these worlds as I’m building them.”
THE CREATOR / LOOM OF LIFE

For years, I’ve had ideas for worlds I wanted to explore. I keep asking what would happen if people thought differently, if life evolved another way, or if something we take for granted changed. Those questions have stayed with me, and I want to find out what I can make from them.

Science fiction and fantasy feed that curiosity, along with philosophy, books, games, films and travel. I’m drawn to how things connect, from the things we do every day to life on a cosmic scale. I like thinking through how a world works and what it might feel like to live there.

Building gives me a way to explore those ideas. I can start with something small, add a detail that interests me and see what follows. A change in one part of the world can lead to questions somewhere else. Working through those connections is part of the enjoyment, and often how I discover what to make next.

That’s where the name Loom of Life comes from. Stories, systems and experiences gradually weave together. An idea gives me somewhere to start; the details and their connections give the world life. I’m discovering it as I build it, and I want to keep following it until there’s something I can share.

I love the moment a game gives me an idea of my own. Maybe I want to try a different approach, see what’s over a hill or take one more turn to find out what happens. I hope someone playing a game I’ve made finds a moment like that, something that catches their interest and makes them want to explore further.

Loom of Life is a way for me to bring these worlds into reach of other people. I’ve spent a long time imagining them. Now I want to make experiences someone can sit down with, enjoy for a while and discover for themselves.
